Summary

She may not have it all figured out yet. But this year she's ✨manifesting✨

Don't miss this brand new rom-com perfect for fans of Bridget Jones's Diary and Emily Henry!

🔮 🔮 🔮

I manifest… The perfect man (Guy Carmichael) falling in love with me.

I am letting go of… My rat-infested flat (to make way for my dream home, ideally central and cheap).

My intention is… Landing a better job (more money, people bringing me coffee, no one getting my name wrong).

Alice Carver’s decision to start a manifestation journal the day after attending her ex’s wedding might earn her the scorn of her family – and, worse, the patronising concern of the irritatingly handsome and successful family friend Matthew Lloyd – but what do they know?

You hardly need to manifest when you have everything already. And there is certainly a lot that Alice needs to change in her life…

Will manifesting help make her dreams come true?

A bet with Matthew says that it will – and sometimes the universe needs a helping hand…

Critic reviews

'For every fan of Bridget Jones, Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella, this is the book. I absolutely loved it. Hilarious, chaotic and so full of heart, I couldn't put it down’ RACHEL GREENLAW

'This book genuinely made me laugh out loud (and even, I’m not ashamed to say, snort-laugh at times). The writing is zippy and the story entertaining and highly relatable' JANE RILEY

Loved this audiobook and loved Alice. Made me laugh out loud and I found myself really rooting for the main character. Enjoyed the format as journal posts and thought that the performance of the narrator was outstanding. Was always looking for moments to listen!

Hilarious, easy to listen, cleverly written new rom com.

This is like the modern day, up-to-date Bridget Jones. Alice is so relatable, and, although we can see her flaws clearly enough - a nod to Jane Austin‘s Emma - we can also see promise. While this book presents chick lit there are some beautiful passages with very vocative and sophisticated description. Hannah Lake is clearly a very talented writer and I can’t wait to read/listen to more.

I just loved this book

the characters are not likeable, you can feel the influence of the LLMs used and you can also tell from the unnaturally places pauses (from speech punctuation) and other signs like sat nav type pronunciations that this was not a human performance. disappointing all around, DNF.
