Summary

All She Wants is a laugh out loud story about a Liverpool girl who becomes a famous soap star, by Coronation Street scriptwriter Jonathan Harvey.

I loved this book, entertaining from start to finish. Leanne Best was fantastic and perfect for this part.

A fun and frothy romp, a little predictable in places, but some great one liners and situations that draw on Harvey's TV work. A tour de force performance from Leanne Best - cracking!

Made me laugh out loud and not many books succeed in that. Poignant and hard hitting at times, but the Scouse humour never fails, that unique quality of being able to see the comedy in the tragic.

The performance was 'bangin' from a real Scouser rather than an actor trying to copy the accent, Leanne Jones' rendition was 'fab', she WAS Jodie.

'Dead gutted ' when it came to an end. I'll miss Jodie's stories. Jonathan how about a follow up on Jodie's antics???

As they say in Liverpool it was 'boss'

Funny, moving, Scouse!

What other book might you compare All She Wants to, and why?

It was not my typical read at all but after several crime thrillers I thought I would try something lighter. It reminded me of a Carla Lane sitcom.

What does Leanne Best bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She managed to bring the characters to life in such a way you felt You knew the family.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I got a couple of strange looks as I laughed out loud listening to this whilst walking the dog.

A really enjoyable listen. Has made me want to listen to more like it.
