I was at the edge of my seat. This book was disquieting and there was a very skillfully written menacing feeling rippling just under the surface. Very creepy in the best way!

I couldn't put this down before finishing. It's a gripping tale, and will take you by surprise many times till the end. I loved the main character and his ADHD, it's a familiar struggle. Very well written.

The multiple layers of meta text lend the narrative a suffocating inevitability. The feeling that the characters are trapped beyond any hope of escaping. Until of course they do in a moment of sublime catharsis.

The relatable and authentic autism of the romantic leads was a joy to read and made me feel very seen. Their romance and the tenderly erotic love making scenes were highlights in an already excellent book.

Probably my favourite kj charles book so far- incredibly lovable lead character, very compelling story and plots, wonderful and character filled voice acting
I only listen at work and it actually had me looking forward to clocking in
The epilogue was also very very sweet, put a nice note on unfortunately hidden historical queer romances and figures
