The book is every bit as excellent as I've come to expect from Stuart Macbride, but for me, Steve Worsley is the voice of Roberta steel and Lesley Harcourt just isn't the same. I understand the temptation to use a female narrator when the protagonist is female, but when a character has been brought to life so superbly by another narrator, irrespective of gender, it seriously diminishes the listening experience.

I love all the books Roberta steele is in and I have listened to them many times over however I found this one a hard listen, the narrator is one of the better ones I have listened to but let's face it she no Roberta steele! The story great and it's amazing to have another books so soon after such a long break but I don't think I'll be going back to this one

I pre-ordered this book as Stuart is definitely one of my favourite authors. all the previous books have been narrated by Steve Worsley, but not this one. the narrator is AWFUL. not flowing at all!! it's almost like she stutters sometimes. just ruined it for me! I cannot get in to it at all so I've bought the hardback and I'll read that. Returned this version. Bring back Steve!!

Mr MacBride delivers another fabulously twisted spin off from the Logan MacRae series; however, it was rather spoiled for me by Ms Harcourt's screeching narration. She utterly confuses appropriate emphasis with shouting and screaming: A more moderate narrator would improve this considerably.
