About this listen
An ancient secret brotherhood. A devastating new weapon of destruction. An unthinkable target. When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to his first assignment to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol—seared into the chest of a murdered physicist—he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati...the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has now surfaced to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy—the Catholic Church.
Langdon’s worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican’s holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces they have hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.
Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair...a clandestine location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.
Critics have praised the exhilarating blend of relentless adventure, scholarly intrigue, and cutting wit found in Brown’s remarkable thrillers featuring Robert Langdon. An explosive international suspense, Angels & Demons marks this hero’s first adventure as it careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war.©2000 Dan Brown; (P)2004 Simon & Schuster, Inc., AUDIOWORKS is an imprint of Simon & Schuster Audio Divison, Simon & Schuster, Inc.

Where does Angels and Demons rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I think that this book is high up there in my top 15 books for definite! What other book might you compare Angels and Demons to, and why?
I think that all the Dan Brown books are quite similar in the concept that they are all about the same character and about the same kind of subject of secret organisations and religions and art history so I think if you like this one from Dan Brown I would defiantly say to read... well listen... to them all! What about Richard Poe’s performance did you like?
I love Richard Poe his voice is so immersive in this book that it really does get you to be sucked in to the book and really gives you a sense of being along side all the craziness of the book! Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes definitely, I think it probably took me about 2 days to complete this one! If it was a real book I would say I really couldn't put it down but I really couldn't stop listening! It was so engrossing!Any additional comments?
I would say that you such watch the films to go with each book but I would listen to the books first as they leave quite a bit out of the films that is in the book! But it really kind of give you that more immersive feel if you can see what the characters are suppose to look like! You can close you eyes while your reading and to see the characters and gives you a sense of feeling and seeing everything in Dan Brown's process of writing the books like how he wanted the characters and the scenery to look. So yes definitely watch the films to go with the books!Wow what a Page Turner!
