There's nothing that challenges your patience and your ability to control your triggers like having young children. I'm in the thick of it with a 4yo and 2yo who constantly need my attention, don't want to share, and are exercising their independence so this book was/is so applicable to life right now.

As parents we all say we don't have an anger issue so don't let the title throw you off...this book has amazing coping skills that I wish I had learned and practiced even before having kids. These are great skills for normal adult conflict, but wow are they helpful when your stress and anger is brought on by parenting. This book does a great job of blending practical advice with real-life examples so you really feel the author has some first-hand experience in this area.

The book highlights self-awareness and the importance of not reacting impulsively to emotions, encouraging parents to model calm behavior and become their best selves. I have found myself referring to this book often over the last few days since the kids are home for several straight days on break. Whether you're an expecting parent or a veteran parent of teens, I definitely encourage everyone to read this book. So helpful!

A MUST READ before having kids!
