About this listen

A Warhammer Age of Sigmar Audiobook

Against orders from her superiors and faced with a horde of the Blood God’s faithful, a Stormcast Eternal undertakes a mission that may prove more treacherous than she could have ever imagined.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It’s an action-packed adventure following a Stormcast Eternal that must decide whether what they truly believe to be right is more important than their faith in the God-king.

THE STORY

It has been twenty years since Anvilgard – now known as Har Kuron – fell to the Daughters of Khaine, and a terrible secret waits in the occupied city’s depths.

Knight-Incantor Tivrain Greymantle is haunted by the call of her brothers and sisters, who Morathi-Khaine has imprisoned there, knowing that if they were killed or released, her perfidy would be revealed to Sigmar as he reforges their souls. Commanded by her superiors to forget their captured comrades, Tivrain resolves to do the unthinkable: defy Sigmar himself, brave the steaming jungles of Aqshy’s Crucible of Life, infiltrate Anvilgard, and liberate them.

Pursued by her superiors and on a collision course with a horde of Khornate Bloodbound, Tivrain and her companions forge onward, unaware that their mission – and destinies – may prove more treacherous than they could have ever imagined.

It was a decent book was nice to have interactions between all the new and old types of stormcast.

It would've been better if it had more perspective of the dwarfs maybe bias though and the antagonist lord.

Dale lucas seems to be a solid writer though like black eyed saint the story was solid and characters well written. I liked the interactions between daughters of khaine, the freeguild citizens and stormcast. It was also good to return to har kuron and see how the 20 years had passed.

Overall good read, Lucas maybe the next Josh Reynolds with solid stories and hopefully some series for aos. I look forward to more of his work.

Nice send off for the sacrament

Hard to rate this one, it's more a 3.5, probably not for me on reflection, but I was glad to have experienced it.

Thematically, there was a lot to enjoy; the discussions around memory are well evoked, especially by the end, and there a number of engaging speeches and dialogue spread throughout which expand on the nature of what it is to be Stormcast. My heart was genuinely touched a few times, and as I did with Blacktalon, came out of it with a great sympathy for the mortals and a seething hatred for Sigmar.

Alas, the constant need to reiterate everyone's full name and rank, along with the exposition can make the whole thing feel very clunky and in service to showcasing the model range rather than delight you with its prose. It's all very clear and easy to follow, but I struggled with portentousness at times, and some of the dialogue, especially the villains, can get a bit Saturday morning cartoon, despite the interesting ideas the book deals with.

I really think that this Story is definitely one of the best. No matter what you expect from any Warhammer BL Novel, be it Old World, AoS, 40k etc. You’ll love this, even if your not a Warhammer fan or anything, this is a great one to start with or even if you are into Fantasy, this will grip you and drag you along at a fast pace, from the very start of the Prologues.
The Anvils of the Heldenhammer are different than other Stormcast Eternals Chambers. Unlike the others they are not heroes or warriors that were chosen by the God King Sigmar and reborn as a Stormcast Eternal, these were dead souls. They were given a chance by the God King, and reborn with no knowledge of who they were in their previous life.
They are brave and fearless like no other. Tivrain Greymantle a Knight-Incantor, has been suffering nightmares and even has become haunted by fellow Anvils of the Heldenhammer; trapped, imprisoned by the Daughters of Khaine, who have betrayed the Alliance of order, by invading and taken over a city. This happened twenty years ago in a war. Now Trivrain and her fellow Anvils will do anything to rescue these tortured Stormcasts. Even if it means Mutiny.
What I really liked is the fact that there are many enemies such as the Chaos Bloodborne of Korne, the Monstrous Orruks, Kruleboyz and Hobgrots, also as I’ve mentioned the terrifying evil aelves the Daughters of Khaine. This is adventure unbound and fast paced Grim Age of Sigmar. It may not be for everyone but I think most will enjoy reading/ listening to this.

An AoS Novel, that has everything. Breathtakingly Exciting and Thrilling.

Great book and really well VA’d, but god if they aren’t leaning into the tragedy of the stormcast lately! I can safely say it’s the first BL book that made me tear up

This was an intesteting story carrying on from the narrative at the end of AOS 3. This is what really drew me in. The thoughts of learning what is next and what has happened to Anvilguard had my hppes up. However the main characters name being spoken what feels like every flew lines really became annoying and really made me dislike this story.
