I was aware that the 'immigration/ asylum crisis' has rumbled on for years but hadn't fully appreciated just what a mess it was in. All the agencies involved are seriously under-resourced and riven by conflicting ideologies. Most of the media, too, only seem interested in fermenting and feeding a toxic debate.

Engaging narration together with the unfolding narrative kept me glued. I want to find more about this issue and also read more of this authors work.
