About this listen

This book (the result of meditation and experience) is not intended as an exhaustive treatise on the much written upon subject of the power of thought. It is suggestive rather than explanatory, its object being to stimulate men and women to the discovery and perception of the truth that - "They themselves are makers of themselves" - by virtue of the thoughts which they choose and encourage. That mind is the master weaver, both of the inner garment of character and the outer garment of circumstance, and that, as they may have hitherto woven in ignorance and pain, they may now weave in enlightenment and happiness.

Most of what was said in this book was at least correct if not inspiring however it was highly repetitive and monotonous as I already mentioned in the title.

besides they could have used a far better narrator than the one they picked

When listening to a work such as this you need to be abe to mentally ingest what is being spoken therefore the voice makes all the difference. The narrator here has an indifferent tonality of voice but the real problem is the speed of speaking as it was like sitting through a lecture given by a second rate teacher who just wanted the lesson over with.. The narrator needs to be more measured in his reading.

This is a book worth reading but in this version not worth listening too. Pity.

Shame about the voice
