About this listen

Chapel Crest isn't for the weak. It's for those who wish to watch the world reduced to ashes and screams. The Watchers went too far. Locking me up with the monster who tried to kill me eight years ago wasn't the way to win my heart. It was the way to break it.

When Seth comes to collect on the bet he made with the Watchers, I know I'm in for a world of hurt.

Because Seth Cain isn't the nice boy I once knew. He's a demon in this asylum from hell.

And if he finds out the Watchers have already claimed me, he could very well finish what he started all those years ago.

To make matters worse, I'm the target of more than just the cruelty of the Watchers and Seth. There are worse things lurking in the dark at Chapel Crest, and I don't know if I can overcome all of it.

None of this is about my sanity. It's about my survival.

Ashes is a dark asylum academy romance with multiple love interests and a girl who will never choose. Everyone is a little crazy at Chapel Crest.

K. G. Ruess knows how to write an explosive story. Mind you when I first read it I couldn’t stand Seth/Asylum Cain… then much to my delight they had to pick the sexiest voice in the business to narrate him… laaaawd almighty —Sean Masters is slowly creeping to that number 1 stop for male narrators as far as I’m concerned f — hellllooo… I said “slowly”, not that he has knocked of Aiden Snow of the number 1 spot just yet 🤣, however he is very much closer after this performance… such a delectable sound, every time he opens his mouth to enact Asylum 😍… I almost caught feelings… but then I remembered: This Is Asylum’s character!!!! … I cannot for one second forget— He’s The Bad Guy. 😜

Loved every second of this enjoyable (full cast in duet) listening experience. The books was already causing a major stir, nowww, with this audio cast… mannnn… out of this world good. An incredible ensemble a fantastic, ever revealing mystery , great plot and even greater characters.

A must listen. Can’t wait for the next listen in the series with “Stiches” —this Book 2 felt more emotional, secretive, abusive, traumatic, debauched and darker than night, as to the first two books… and that is saying much as the first two was disturbingly enough., this just took us further down this winding labyrinth of vile intentions and raging triggers threatening to incapacitate all over the place.

The mark of a true & engaging tale is how invested a reader/listener can become, that you just feel part of the story. There were moments of me feeling utterly defeated.

This series will live in my head for a long time rent free. And as we’re all waiting for the last book in the series to be published — “Asylum” with abated breath, while … in the meantime… we can all now fully enjoy these fantastic audio productions to remind us exactly why we loved this woman’s books in the first place. I just wanted to thank her again for this masterpiece of entertainment & enjoyment.

Goodness… yessss… I’ll never stop recommending this series. It was gloriously good. Well worth a credit.

This is a dark read and it doesn't let up; do not take the trigger warnings lightly as there are some on page uncomfortable scenes. Sirena and Malachi's journeys in particular were a tough listen. J.Tipstone does stellar work as although Stitches may not remember exactly what has happened, we do and it was brutal listening to him cry for his mum. The talent is this production is something else and Michael Gallagher also gets a special mention as Sin deals with the consequences of his actions from book one. After reading Bells I understood that character more but hearing him spiral was hard as he genuinely seemed to feel remorse and guilt; the foreboding to his reckoning was so tense.

The performances really carried this for me as the dark side of the plot is relentless however the appearance of Cadence was such a highlight; I love how fiercely loyal she is and how she takes no prisoners. Her relationship with Church is the best thing to come of this book and the nickname Claws is spot on. I hoped her and Bryce might have a little flirtation but realistically she'd eat him for breakfast and he has no chance as it stands!

I have no clue about Seth/Asylum and that epic cliffhanger. I cannot wait for the revenge to start though as Sully and Everett are due some consequences.

I couldn't fault this audio. Yes it was dark and yes it was emotional but it did what it intended and that was shock and make me cry. The audio was brilliantly performed by the cast and J.Tipstone needs a standing ovation for his performance in some difficult scenes. I just can't get over how well this series is performed. If you are thinking about starting this series definitely do it but check your TW.

Blue Nose Audio has done it again! I absolutely loved how each narrator was able to portray the characters feelings. It was something I wasn’t able to do as I read the books. This book and narration shows the development of each character and the story! Absolutely loved it.

I loved the growth of every character!
