About this listen

November 1291. Meg and Llywelyn gather their family at Rhuddlan Castle to celebrate their seventh anniversary and David's 23rd birthday. But the joyful reunion goes grievously awry when an old enemy raises the banner of rebellion, followed immediately by an even more catastrophic betrayal by an old friend.

Meanwhile, facing war at every turn and still haunted by his decision to leave Cassie and Callum in the modern world, David chooses a dangerous path forward, one that will either change the course of the future forever or burn his world to ashes.

Ashes of Time is book seven in the After Cilmeri series.

Storyline is great as in all Sarah Woodbury's books. Settings, background history and characters transport you to another world. The others in the series so far, I have read on my kindle. This is the first that I have listened to on Audible. Being a Welsh speaker, who lived for 30 yrs in Wales, it was hard at first to understand the pronunciation of names and places in this book. I will probably find this in other audiobooks as well, depending on their setting.
(this book was gifted to me)

Great book

Sarah never disappoints with the creativity and the fast moving pace of her plots! A double decker Cardiff bus in 1292? Yes and yet utterly believable in the context of this time travelling series.
Whilst the plots are still as gripping in book 7 (it's 8 really), for me it's the characters I love most, every one of them is relatable and consistent. I know them all so well they've become part of my life.

Book 7 and still gripped!

Great story, love Sara Woodbury books but the found it hard to listen to narrator's pronunciation of welsh words as living on welsh boarder is not the way its spoken, all in all if you can get past that a very good book series :)

Great story but welsh pronounced words not right
