At the End of It All by Rae Lyse completely emotionally drained me in the most powerful way possible. I finished this book feeling raw, overwhelmed, and honestly speechless.

Arson Ace as the protagonist was unforgettable. He’s layered, conflicted, intense, and painfully human. Every internal battle, every guarded emotion, every moment of vulnerability felt authentic and deeply lived-in. Rae Lyse doesn’t just give us a character she gives us a soul laid bare.

And then there’s Lourdes Phat his lifeline. The steady force. The heart in the chaos. The way she anchors him, challenges him, and loves him adds such emotional depth to the story. Their connection wasn’t just romantic; it felt necessary. Like survival. Like healing wrapped inside love.

Every character carried weight. Every scene felt intentional. The emotional build-up was heavy, consuming, and at times almost overwhelming but that’s what made it so powerful. This wasn’t a light read. It demanded to be felt.

Rae Lyse delivered a story that lingers long after the final page. Intense. Beautiful. Emotionally exhausting in the best way.

I enjoyed the plot of this story, very interesting. Kind’ve reminds me of Megan Good and Jonathon Majors.
I felt the writing was too flowery, too many metaphors takes you out of the story and it starts not feeling real. But maybe that was on purpose, maybe we were supposed to feel like we were on planet Ace…
And this is the first time I’ve ever thought Jakobi and Wesleigh didn’t work together. The characters gave off 2 different vibes and I found Jakobi boring (for the first time ever!) I think Wesleigh could’ve carried this one on her own.
