About this listen
Do we really live on in some conscious form after we die, and is that form capable of communicating with the world of the living?
“Aye, right…” was journalist Jack Parlabane’s stance on the matter. But this was before he found himself in the compromising position of being not only dead himself but dead with an exclusive still to file. One thing he knows for certain: death is not the end - it’s the ultimate undercover assignment.

Always a brilliant listen

Attack of the Unsinkable Rubber Ducks is my first book by Christopher Brookmyre, so my first meeting with journalist Jack Parlabane, his election as a university rector is laugh out laudable. As a sceptic myself this wacky work does much debunking of the murky world of the paranormal, mediums, psychics, showing how it gains credence by laughable 'scientific testing'. It's a worthy rant against all religions and the gullibility of the faithful.
The writing does jump sometimes confusing between the principle players, but then, even the telling of the story is an exponent of the subtle art of mis-direction, the woo-woo peddlers tool of deception; and the ending, the final expose is brilliant, earnt the five star rating.
Again Angus King's narration is great.
The subtle art of mis-direction!
