Very reminiscent of Star Trek! Full of cliches, but lots of fun!!! Voyager fans in particular will like this one.

Star Trek?

This was really good only problem was the rather slow tedious boring start for a couple of hours. Once underway in the Aurora story really got going and was good from this point

Slow to get going

That slow start became a fast paced, curiosity inducing adventure. So many questions about the who what where! Looking forward to book 2

Sceptical before hand and it was a slow start

This was a perfectly enjoyable story with interesting characters and good dialog. Both the writer and narrator do a good job of moving the story along.

The only real quibble is that the plot of a ship lost a long way from home and in uncharted and hostile space is becoming over used. Here the addition of senior staff being killed off so that young and inexperienced crew have to step up is also a reused plot device.

How ever it is still an enjoyable listen.

Good story but over used plot line

I stopped reading halfway through the third book. This is such a long series I really wanted to get my teeth into it, but the slightly amateurish writing and the mildly unleashed characters interacting confusingly, all made it difficult.
Perhaps the books get better, I just can't sit and wait. But this is clearly a popular and successful series so I'm willing to acknowledge this is a me problem and it's just not my cup of tea.

Not great, but serviceable
