Avery Marie flees Seelie Court life to avoid an arranged marriage with haughty Prince Harold. She embarks on an epic adventure through the lands of the fae to discover her quest may be much bigger than she thought. She meets a wandering half-elf named Elliot, who explains that it's not just fae that's been changing for the worse. They soon learn that in the mortal world, through the use of technology, human minds are slowly being taken over by an alien presence. They discover that mortals have been working with the fae to create a portal to another world. Avery and Elliot seek safety at a notorious commune away from the drama of the courts, but it may be too late to save themselves.
