Anti-immigrant marches across South Africa marked an unofficial deadline for undocumented migrants to leave; some demonstrations turned violent with looting and stones thrown at flats, while shops closed and foreign workers stayed home. March and March organiser Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma said weekly protests will continue and urged six months of national resources to remove “illegal immigrants”.
