Would you listen to Bag of Bones again? Why?

loved this story, and even more so because it was read by Stephen King himself. This meant that you knew you were getting the emphasis as intended, the plays on words and timings as intended. I admit I am very biased and a big fan of all of his work, and feel like this is the closest you can get to his mind as a fan. To give an idea of my taste in audio book narration, my favourites king books on Audible have been this one (Bag of Bones), The Stand, 11.22.63, and Salems lot, all of which I loved the narration and the story. I have just returned finders keepers - I didnt like the narration so I will likely read that one to myself.

The story draws you in, the way most king stories do, the characters are rich and I feel like I have actually been with them at their lakeside residence. Amazing.

What does Stephen King bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Stephen King reading his own book gives you the most insight into his intended reader experience. You cant skip ahead, you dont mispronounce names in your mind, and you know how the intonation of the characters own words and expressions were meant to be. I would be very happy if I could get all of Kings books read by himself.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, but i managed it over 3 days whilst doing chores.

This is one of my favorite Stephen King novels. Great cast of characters with a truly nasty old villain that you'll love to hate. Brilliantly read by Mr King himself. Do yourself a favour and take a break on the T. R. spending time getting to know the locals and their dead ancestors.

I really enjoyed this story, I wanted to know what happened next all the way through. King is one of those rare writers that can write and narrate with excellence. Highly recommended.
