About this listen
You can’t break a girl who already clawed her way out of the crypt.
I came to the House of Night broken, barely breathing, barely me.
Now I’m waiting in the crypts for the events that will change everything.
First, The Baron Hunt.
And, second, my arranged marriage to the King.
I spent my youth being groomed under the watchful eye of my uncle, preparing for the day I united our families. My uncle wants to be tied to Royalty. The Baron King? He wants more than a bride.
He wants secrets.
I know first hand that something is deeply wrong beneath the foundation of Forsyth, beneath the shiny rituals and punishing ceremonies. Neither have done anything to find the missing girls.
The King wants loyalty.
Damon wants control, exerting it with his needles and pins
Hunter stands in the shadows, quietly waiting and watching.
They all want something from me: My obedience. My purity. My silence.
I’m willing to give them whatever they want, be whatever they want, Baroness, wife, or both as long as death never touches me again.
Barons of Decay is the first book in the Barons series and book 10 overall in the contemporary, dark, reverse harem, traumatic romance world of the Royals of Forsyth U. Please refer to the foreword for all content information and details.

©2025 Angel Lawson (P)2025 Angel LawsonNope, not disappointed at all. Somebody needs to bring Maddox sr to heel, otherwise he might end up where all the rest of old heads of Forsyth Kings end up… gone and forgotten … and their territory Lord over by their lessers.
Female lead is very different going into this sector of Forsyth U. She’s a bit of a functioning Cuckoo and yet so sweat… one can on first meeting her dismiss her as nothing that special. Oh but she is very special … for Maddox Sr it must feel like the chickens came home to roost lol her stubborn will is iron clad though— no surprises, can’t be a House Girl and be weak. Unlike the other House Girls before her, the brand new Baroness is refreshing in her “looniness” … her mental conversation is a touch disturbing. She’s not a Lady. She’s not a Duchess nor is she a Princess. Nope… she was raised to be a Baroness, period. She’s a Sister and Daughter of darkness and a Queen Wife of wickedness from the get go.
Darn right!!!
Looking forward to the next instalment. We still have this mystery of the kidnapped Forsyth girls to solve.
Narration was great. I’m new to both narrators and I’m impressed how graphically they brought the Barron’s & their King to life … and of course their little “Doll Baby”
I can feel it … things about to go bump in the night for the BRN franchise of Forsyth University … because they need a darn act right.
