Frankly AS writes quite poorly but her story ideas are good and appeal to me ! Ali Spooner fills her books with food, generally it's a wonder the characters ever get anything done they eat so much ! I found Bayou Justice full of sex and eating and unanswered questions. Unanswered questions like Why Kara Stewart a DDA never questioned Sasha's vampirism or that Sasha 'when hunting for kills' ? I found it weird that Sasha seemed to love Milly more than Kara, and certainly 'went on about her' so much.
I found myself feeling sad for Kara about the latter. Now my big 'thing' is the way RK narrates, she clearly has a decent rang of character voices but, Sasha is just not right ! The narrator makes Sasha sound like an excitable teenager, the voice and the nuances are well 'just not right' ! I feel that the audiobook would be better if the narrator did a better job, and as for the way AS writes , the story and HEA tends to make up for it !
