OK, so I got this audiobook technically as a second time Dad, but a TON of this stuff still applies no matter how many kids you’ve had. I feel really grateful for C Latib, and her insights as a seasoned perinatal nurse. In all honesty, there were sometimes where it was a little hard to connect with her because she seems to be writing from the perspective of a mom. However, I do feel that having this kind of perspective is really important as a first time Dad. She was still very polite, and very encouraging and gave some helpful insight into the stress, and pain that a woman goes through, and the flipside of how encouraging and rewarding it can feel for partner (dad/husband) to be supportive through the pre-birth, birth, and postpartum process. I’ve already recommended this book to my friend who is currently having a baby with his wife, and I’m excited to hear what he thinks!

I love resources for dads! Finally!!

I was honestly overwhelmed and had no clue what to expect, but this gave me a sense of direction without making me feel dumb. It covers the emotional stuff too, which no one really talks about. I’ve been using some of the tips to support my partner better, and it’s helped us feel more like a team.

This audiobook has been a huge help in getting me mentally and practically ready for what’s ahead. It breaks everything down, from what to expect during pregnancy to how to support your partner and prep for the baby’s arrival. I especially liked the parts about managing stress and staying involved throughout the process. It made something that felt overwhelming feel much more manageable. Definitely glad I listened to this early!

This book offers a clear, down-to-earth guide for navigating the early stages of fatherhood. The tips on pregnancy, newborn care, and emotional readiness are practical and easy to apply, making it a solid starting point for anyone feeling unsure about what to expect.

What stood out to me was how it emphasizes being an active, supportive partner—not just in the delivery room, but throughout the entire journey. It also addresses the emotional side of becoming a dad, which often gets overlooked. If you're looking for real guidance without the fluff, this book is a great companion for the road ahead.
