About this listen

A bedtime story for adults that soothes the mind and a sleep story for adults that invites you to rest in rhythm with a slower world.

On a quiet cobbled street, above a glowing bakehouse, a small window opens to the scent of fresh bread and the first light of dawn. Inside the flat above the bakery, the day unfolds without urgency. A kettle sighs. Curtains drift. Light moves slowly across a worn tablecloth. Nothing needs to happen. And yet, everything feels alive.

The Window Above the Bakery is a gentle, literary sleep story for adults. There is no plot to follow, no conflict to resolve — only the quiet presence of a village waking at its own pace, and the emotional warmth of a room held apart from noise and expectation.

This is not a story to keep you awake. It’s a story to feel. A soft voice guides you through stillness: rooftops of terracotta and slate, a cat moving through mist, the hush of loaves cooling as the day fades to candlelight and silence.

Perfect for listeners who enjoy slow storytelling, poetic language, and peaceful endings.

You’ll hear:

• Calming narration in a soft, steady voice

• Poetic, sensory-rich language with emotional warmth

• No suspense, no urgency — just quiet rhythm

• A standalone story from the Before Your Dream seriesLet the story begin. Let the day end. Let the window open.

Another charming short chill out story from Fedor Alphenaar. This Before Your Dream tale captures simple day to day snippets in a calm and pleasant manner that help relaxation at the end of the day.
Narrator Peter McGiffen's pace and tone are spot on for these tales. 5☆

This had no real story to it just more of a description of a room as it changes throughout the day. Cute but not the best one I have listened to I’m afraid but I hope others enjoy it as this is just my opinion
