Been Nowhere, Done Nothing is the true story of Paul ‘Glazey’ Glazebrook and his experiences joining, and serving in, The Royal Green Jackets, one of the oldest and boldest infantry regiments in the British Army.

Glazey honed his infantry and covert soldiering skills all over the world, from the jungles of Jamaica, to taking part in secret operations deep inside the bandit country of South Armagh, as well as targeted strike ops on the war torn streets of Iraq. This story is told with unflinching honesty and hysterically funny wit, giving a keen insight into the sense of humour which has kept our forces in the fight for generations.

Paul’s book is a heartfelt, funny, and truly relatable look at his experiences during his service in the Royal Green Jackets. His stories capture not just the day-to-day humour and chaos, but also the deep camaraderie and shared experiences that stay with you for life. Listening to it, was like catching up with an old friend and it was at times an emotional roller coaster — honest, reflective, and full of character.
A brilliant read that perfectly captures what service life is really all about.
Cheers Glazey and to the Chosen Men that made the ultimate sacrifice until we meet again!

Was engaged from start to finish. I found this a fascinating and funny window into the world of the British squaddie. A humble laugh-out-loud account that also packs an honest emotional punch. So glad he narrated it himself. I could’ve listened to hours more. Highly recommend!

Humour, honesty, and heart!

any man grown up on a council estate working class would enjoy and feel emotion to this life story even if we haven't been in the military. at the age of 50 and having a working class life i feel I could have been part of this story if I had taken a different path and not followed in my father's footsteps. the emotion and grit of a young man to adult hood is all over this along with the grossness of testosterone. very well written and read.

emotional And inspiring

This is my first time listening to an audio book and what 1 to start on. Hearing paul tell his story in his own unique brand of witty, dark humoured and explicty descriptive way was brilliant. The book had me laughing with all the antics you'd expect a squaddie and his mates to get upto as well as retching in some parts too (faecal mole in particular) and then towards the end crying with the horrors and sad deaths faced by paul and his army brothers while serving in iraq. Highly recommend anyone to buy the book or give the audiobook a listen , you won't regret it. Amazing job ❤️
