I became so completely immersed in this story - and found myself particularly attached to Arlette. I was so cross and upset at some of the happenings in the book (those who've read will know the particular point I mean), that I had to switch it off. I was so angry and upset - I even told my other half (who couldn't care less!). I keep seeing people in the street or on TV and think "I imagine that's how [insert characters name] would look" - and it was at that point I realised how much I was enjoying this listen. The narrators were phenomenal. The storyline is brilliant. And I'm so glad I managed to stumbled across Lisa Jewell on audible and have the pleasure of listening to this story,

I have read/listened to most Lisa Jewell books and enjoyed them all. This one however is my favourite - an unusual story, so easy to picture the characters throughout the story...absolutely loved it and I’m sad I finished this book.

I loved the storyline of this book and the descriptions by the narrators of the the surroundings, smells and characters really brought everything to life.
