About this listen

Detective Inspector Daniel Clement is back in Broome, the tropical town where he grew up, licking his wounds from a busted marriage and struggling to be impressed by his new team of small-town, inexperienced cops.

But stagnation and lethargy soon give way to a case with urgent purpose. On the edge of the desert, a man is found dead in a crocodile-infested watering hole. And he is only the first. The connection between the victims is elusive, but Clement must pursue it as a decades-old mystery begins to unravel and a monster cyclone brews on the horizon.

This is the second book I’ve read from this author. As with the first, good characters but the story gets somewhat convoluted. It seems slow at times then you miss something important and have to backtrack, so pay attention.

A Decent listen but flits around

Great story though a little confusing at times. Brilliant narration. I recommend this audio book.

As a fan of all things WA I was pleased to discover the Dave Warner books, Ric Herbert did a good job as a narrator and I enjoyed this book as much as the first in the series.

Great story, well read.

2nd book I’ve read by Dave Warner. Love the setting in WA. Style of writing moved on from first book I’d read and was better for fewer similes. Plot was somewhat convoluted and was easy to get a little lost at some points.

Loved the WA backdrop
