About this listen

Singleness, regardless of its duration, is an experience shared by all. Marriage is experienced by some.

For Christians, however, neither singleness nor marriage are end products, for they both point towards the glorious endgame when Christ becomes one with His church. So, how do we prepare for this wondrous day with the ultimate Bridegroom?

Jeanette uses her experience of being a same-sex attracted woman with gender dysphoria to explore the Christian's call to a radical counter-cultural life. For the past 40 years, Jeanette has found that the more she gets to know God's character and motivation, the greater her love for Jesus, resulting in a desire to seek only His pleasure.

Maturing as a disciple of Jesus is deeply challenging but results in great joy and contentment irrespective of circumstance.

Knowing oneself as Christ's beloved is worth the effort and commitment to transformation.

Earthly weddings require much planning and preparation, so how much more thought should go into our eternal nuptials? Are you ready?

In this simple but profound book, Jeanette Howard addresses some of the challenges faced by all Christian men and women who look and wait with great expectancy.

This is her fourth book.

Jeanette's knowledge of Jewish marriage rituals coupled with her impressive understanding of scripture means there are truths to learnt in every chapter. I have a newer, greater and clearer understanding of what it means to be the Betrothed Bride of Christ.

Jeanette is clearly not just going through the motions in her faith and love for Jesus, and that shines through her book. Jeanette is seeking to love the Lord with all her heart, soul, body and mind and she is standing in the knowledge that she is entirely loved and delighted in. In finishing her book I am left inspired and encouraged to pursue a relationship with Jesus like she has.

Jeanette is not married but she has a depth of understanding of what it means to be a bride that I, as someone who is married, felt helpfully challenged by.

This book is for anyone who doesn't just want to commit to God out of duty, gripping on to him by the skin of their teeth but who instead wants to intentionally love Him and know they are chosen and loved by Him.

This is a book that even though I loved listening to the author read it in this audio version. I will also be buying a hard copy as well so I can revisit bits of it for encouragement in the future.

Inspires readers to grasp Christ's love

I had the privilege of hearing Jeanette speak on some of the content of this book at a conference not long before the pandemic broke out. It’s great to see it’s now in book form so that more people can benefit. It was really interesting to hear more about ancient Jewish marriage customs. They are so different from those in the UK. Understanding them better sheds so much light on what it means to be the bride of Christ. I found this really helpful.

Really helpful in understanding ancient Jewish marriage customs better and therefore what it means to be betrothed to Christ
