This is a very good book, Nic Pizzolatto's short story anthology. This is a collection of some of his earliest work and is a must for any who enjoys his writing. I watched True Detective (season 1) and was very impressed, read Galveston and was forever traumatised, and finally tried this and I am very pleased I did. Pizzolatto's prose is just perfection, like silk, and though the stories can be a bit hit and miss, they are still a joy to behold. Favourites of mine were 'Cryptograph', 'Nepal' and the title story. Kirby Heybourne's narration is very good.
