About this listen

Countless people worldwide have made Mindfulness in Plain English a beloved and best-selling classic in almost a dozen languages. Now, after nearly two decades, Bhante helps meditators of every stripe take their mindfulness practice to the next level - helping them go, in a word, beyond mindfulness. In the same warm, clear, and friendly style, Bhante introduces the listener to what have been known for centuries as the jhanas - deeply calm, joyous, and powerful states of meditation that, when explored with the clearly presented tools in this book, can lead to a life of insight and unshakeable peace.

This book offers a very deep descriptive explanation of the practice of mindfullness. If you simply wish to practice mindfullness simply to help remove the noise of unwanted thoughts then this isn't the book for you.

If however, you already study or follow mindfullness as a practice and wish to learn more in terms of reaching deeper levels of meditation then this book would be a valuable addition to your library.

The most obvious quality of this book is Bhante G's talent for straightforwardness in his explanations. Despite this, he manages to bend down low enough to speak to any ear. It is a wonderfully encouraging lay out of the jhanic path from breath awareness and access concentration to liberation after submitting to the 4th supra-mundane jhana. I encourage anyone interested in this subject to listen to this book with as much focus as possible in order to encourage a more focused and dedicated practice and to foster a greater spirit of faith in The Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Peace and happiness to all beings.

Incredibly clear and succinct
