About this listen

In 2008 Sean Conway set off on a 1,000 mile bike ride that would shape the next 10 years of his life, as he became obsessed with the idea of becoming a real ultra cyclist. This is his story, how he tried and failed many times to break a cycling world record, and the story about his final world record attempt, cycling 4,000 miles across Europe. Sean nearly gave up on his dream after tragically losing two of his ultra cycling friends, but decided to continue in their honor with his quest to chase big miles on two wheels. Sean looks back at some of his cycling heroes and heroines and the boom in ultra cycling over the last decade.

Really fantastic and inspiring. His positive message to get out and see the world while wanting to achieve something is amazing. Having read his other books and enjoyed them and seeing give a talk having dean narrative this book gave it extra depth as this gave that little bit of extra emotion you can’t read or have unless you have done something like this. What a book would recommend to all to read and hear.

Great and fantastic and inspiring.

The bearded wonder that is Sean Conway. Hearing the story from the writer themselves is great.

Started a bit slow, I even contemplated stopping listening but once it got into the Europe Cycle Record part of the book it was excellent. Extremely funny at times and not as unemotional as the Mark Beaumont 80 days book.

I remember watching that GPS tracker every day and this really brought home the commitment it took to move that little icon across the map.

Excellent once got into the Europe Cycle Record
