Summary

A body is discovered with her throat cut and her daughter believed missing. DCI Foster quickly sees parallels with the disappearance of a teenager three years earlier.

With hopes fading, he calls on genealogist Nigel Barnes to piece together the links between the families of the two girls. The trail leads back to 1890, and a young couple fleeing a terrible crime in their past....

Excellent story, fascinating details about the religious cult involved, great narration and twisting, turning plotline. Very well written story with clever denouement. A 'couldnt put it down' book!

One of the best novels I have 'read' for a while!

Loved this as I love crime and history. Very interesting plot. Have realised that this is book 2 in a series but books 1 & 3 don't appear to be available on Audible. What a shame as I would buy them.

Different sort of plot line

I enjoy crime, detective, forensic drama , but this was not the norm. The past and the present inter twined, the science behind DNA , genes and ancestry investigation. Thoroughly enjoyed, for two main reasons, the story and the story teller, narration was first class.

Something different!

Very similar to the first book in the series. Well narrated, but boring and predictable plot.

Not so different to first book
