About this listen

The first book in an epic new dark academia romantasy, perfect for fans of the Zodiac Academy and Atlas Six series, about a young woman named Summer Tuatha De Daanan who enrolls at the magical Avalon University, where she must uncover the secrets of her past, find the mysterious benefactor who paved her way, and stop a sadistic killer who threatens to drench Avalon in blood.

Fear, Fury and Fire.

To Know is Not Enough.

Power flows through the ancient halls of Avalon University like a neverending flood. Admission to the elite institution enables students to hone their magic under the watchful eye of their icy headmaster.

Summer Tuatha De Daanan planned to slide through her tenure at Avalon, unnoticed and inconspicuous. She has no interest in learning more about her past or why someone applied to the school on her behalf. Her emotional walls keep everyone at bay, and her sharp tongue makes people give her a wide berth. Yet, despite her best attempts, her emotional armor begins to melt from her feral vampire roommate to the angelic senior who is never dissuaded by her feigning disinterest. Maybe this could be good for her, a new life. Yet, dark secrets lurk in the halls of Avalon, and soon those same halls are drenched in blood.

Summer finds herself as the obsession of the sadistic stalker with the warning: Seven lessons to learn. With the help of her new friends, she races against the clock to solve the mystery, hoping to save lives and catch the killer before it's too late.

I finished this yesterday and I still don't quite know what to think or feel, I couldn't stop listening, it's mysterious and intriguing, beyond that I'm trying really hard not to include spoilers so, there are only a few books where I really like the Golden Retriever type MMC's and this is one of them but I also like The Stranger and felt/feel torn, normally there would have been a lot more revealed by the end of the first book in terms of the bigger overall story but I don't care and I'm ok in that regard to where we're at, I just have a head full of theories and a heart full of hope for the next book, (one of those hopes is that it turns in to a RH after the first book 😏) the found family, magical world, variety of magical species, the hat tips to well known stories were all great, I had a couple of of niggles and these are just personal - I normally notice when words or phrases are used a lot and it doesn't bother me but I felt the nickname got overused to the point I did find it annoying, also I really enjoy books where there is insta love, lust, mate bonds that instantly snap in to place etc etc but with this book all the relationships went from strangers to all in in an instant and it didn't feel organic? 🤷‍♀️ idk? but on the flip side early on there wasn't a load of unnessary guff to get to the point where peeps knew each other well, anyway! both narrators did an excellent job but Corvin King was on fire! so hot, and the cliffhanger - I'm not going to be more specific in case I give anything away but WTH!!! roll on Sepetember for the next book
