About this listen

The final novel of the Demon Accords series:

The aliens won't give up and Hell wants its due. Having fought off the Vorsook multiple times, Earth's heroes are looking to end the war in a decisive way, while Hell's demons circle like sharks smelling blood in the water. One world facing off with an ancient interstellar species that has conquered almost five thousand planets and the Fallen Angels of Hell. But the defenders of this world are Chris Gordon, Declan O'Carroll, Tanya Demidova and Stacia Reynolds, the quantum super computer Omega. Who would you bet on? For the fans of the Demon Accords series, here is the end.

Audible has messed up the end of the series by not using James Patrick Cronin who recorded ALL the other primary story books. For a rich company they could afford to keep all the people who have bought this whole series happy by finishing it off with James.

Not happy!

The new reader was okay but sounded wrong because his vocalisation of the individual characters was different. Not his fault and I’m sure he would have been fine from the beginning but taking over on the last book is never going to be fair to his performance.

AUDIBLE: please re-record this last book with James Patrick Cronin. Thank you.

RE-RECORD THE AUDIO BOOK!!!!!!!!!

At first, the book felt a little rushed, and some of the dialogue seemed slightly off in tone and pacing. However, by the second half the story found a much better rhythm and the flow. It improved considerably. Once it settled, the narrative felt more cohesive and engaging.

I think the main storylines were concluded - or at least guided toward logical and satisfying directions. Emotional in a way. While not every thread was wrapped up neatly, it felt intentional, and perhaps some elements will be explored further in the Demon Accords Generations expansion.

The change in narrator was initially jarring. From what I understand, that decision come from Audible rather than the Author, though the exact reasons aren’t clear. Whether it was a budget decision or contract negotiations, it does take some adjustment. That said, Connor Brannigan isn’t a bad choice. By the second half, I found it easier to shift gears and settle into the new voice performance.

As for character development, I thought the growth of the two leads - Chris and Declan - was handled well. Their arcs show maturity and change, even when those changes may not align with earlier expectations.

I think it can be difficult to conclude a series when you end up dealing with such odds and scales. I men we are talking different planes, different system, affecting multiple planets. I have read allot of books and this it pretty far up the list for satisfying series endings. I will be around to see what John Conroe writes next and I look forward to the Demon Accords Generations expansion.

A Strong Finish Once It Finds Its Rhythm

I have absolutely loved The Demon Accords stories. Every single book minus maybe one has been absolutely incredible to read. The story the characters the way it all intertwines together is amazing. The compendiums linking in with different people's perspectives and views were really good and were really well written. Unfortunately I can't say the same for this last book. After all this time I felt this book was rushed. Some storylines some characters just completely forgotten about never heard of again and the way the book ends that's it no real ending just kind of like one of the stories where you just look into yourself and make your own mind up some people like that I don't particularly like that which is why it makes it a bit disappointing for me. I hope the spinoff books add more context and more to the end but yeah good but also disappointing

A disappointing end
