Summary

SPLINTERED BLOODLINES. UNBREAKABLE BARGAINS. A LEGACY OF BETRAYAL.

The powerful sequel to the instant New York Times bestselling and award-winning Legendborn that's taking TikTok by storm. Perfect for fans of Cassandra Clare, Leigh Bardugo, Sarah J. Maas and Cinderella is Dead!

The shadows have risen, and the line is law.

All Bree wanted was to uncover the truth behind her mother’s death. So she infiltrated the Legendborn Order, a secret society descended from King Arthur’s knights – only to discover her own ancestral power. Now, Bree has become someone new:

A Medium. A Bloodcrafter. A Scion.

But the ancient war between demons and the Order is rising to a deadly peak. And Nick, the Legendborn boy Bree fell in love with, has been kidnapped.

When the Regents reveal they will do whatever it takes to hide the war, Bree and her friends must go on the run to rescue Nick themselves. But enemies are everywhere, Bree’s own powers are unpredictable and dangerous, and she can’t escape her growing attraction to Selwyn, the mage sworn to protect Nick until death.

If Bree has any hope of saving herself and the people she loves, she must learn to control her powers from the ancestors who wielded them first – without losing herself in the process.

I really enjoyed this story and the premise is a very original take on an Arthurian legend, however, the instinct to orate Brie's voice to be high pitched and whining at times, made an already frustrating character extremely annoying. The oration of Nick, Sel and William was really very good. As someone who lives in Scotland, Larks accent was distractingly bad and took me out of it every time he was read.
I'd say, bar Lark, all the male characters are orated magnificently.

Excellent story, frustrating protagonist, whiny performance

Stunning sequel which delivers on all accounts.

I LOVE the narrator but had to take a mark off for Lark’s Scottish accent lol. Super performance nonetheless!

Incredible.

This was an incredible story and such an excellent sequel to Legendborn, it's the best fantasy written in quite some time.

The narrator was mostly great but there's a character with a Scottish accent in the story and the accent was so bad I groaned every time the character turned up. It felt like no one who'd ever actually heard a Scottish accent had been involved in the production.

Such a fantastic story

This book took me on an emotional adventure from teenage angst to racism and injustice. The character depth and expansion was superb. The plot progressed from book 1 nicely with twists and turns to keep you guessing. I really liked the way the story paid homage to black traditional spiritual practices. The narrator was incredible really bringing the story to life, overall an incredible book.

Long but Brilliant

This is easily one of the best books ever… amazing amazing amazing…
I don’t even know what to say other than READ / LISTEN to it… you will not regret it. My heart was in a vice from start to finish.
Now… I’m going to sink into a deep book depression for a week or two.

Amazing from start to finish
