Summary

*Duet narration by Rose Dioro and Stephen Dexter!*

Once, I destroyed my fated mates. This time I'm going to save them.

One moment, I'm living my downtrodden life: disowned, outcast, and barely scraping by.

The next, I'm wrenched into an alternate universe where I'm rich, privileged—and dead.

No one knows that last part yet except the killer and the woman who summoned me. And she won't send me home until I pose as my spoiled other self, infiltrate the upper echelons of magical society, and flush out my own murderer.

If only I didn't walk into Luminary Academy and find myself face to face with my worst regrets: my fated mates.

These formidable men have no idea I'm their destined match—or that I ruined their lives in my own reality. At best, they see me as a rival. At worst, a heartless enemy.

But our fractured connection keeps pulling us closer despite my efforts to resist.

I need to expose the murderer and leave this world before our bonds can spark. Because no matter how much my would-be mates torment and crave me, they have no idea how much blood I have on my hands.

One wrong move, and I'll be the death of them... again.

*Bloom & Blood is the first in a new urban fantasy series with tangled mate bonds, morally grey men who yearn their hearts out, and a fierce heroine determined to make the most of her second chance. This audiobook has duet narration.*

Bloom & Blood is a gripping, emotionally layered romantasy that blends alternate realities, fated mates, and a murder mystery into a story that feels both chaotic and deeply compelling. It’s one of those books that throws you straight into the action and doesn’t really let you go. The story follows Elodie, who gets pulled into an alternate reality where she’s dead and she must solve her own murder 🤦‍♀️

The idea of being pulled into an alternate universe, where you’re not only living someone else’s reality but also investigating your own murder adds a constant sense of urgency, especially as Elodie must balance survival, deception, and the risk of unravelling everything around her.

Elodie herself is a strong and emotionally complex main character. She carries a lot of guilt from her past, particularly when it comes to her fated mates, and that weight follows her into this new reality. Her journey isn’t just about solving the mystery, it’s about confronting her own mistakes and trying to do better this time. That internal conflict adds a lot of depth to her character.

The romance is very much a slow burn 🔥🔥🔥🔥, and it leans heavily into tension rather than immediate payoff. The dynamic with her fated mates is complicated in the best way, they don’t trust her, they don’t understand their connection to her, and yet there’s still that undeniable pull between them that feels emotionally charged without being rushed.

The world-building is ambitious, with multiple layers, magic systems, academy politics, and the contrast between two different versions of reality.

And that ending…it leaves you with more questions than answers and sets up the next book in a way that makes it very hard not to want to continue 🥰

The audiobook is really good 😁

A very well narrated audiobook. I love dual pov narration. 👏

This is a fascinating premise for a story. I enjoyed it a lot. 🤩

The biggest complaint I had was the lower classes' bitterness towards the 'Haves' and the disgustingly demeaning way the 'Haves' talked about the lower classes. It was vile in both directions!🤨😔

The fmc's desperate desire to get back to her bonded mates, whilst being relieved she's out of the clutches of her hideous blackmailing uncle, was heart clenchingly sad!🥺 Also, the pleasure and pain of seeing 'all four' of her mates in this reality was written brilliantly.❤️‍🔥
I really felt for Elodie seeing her Dad again, who she lost at age 6!🥹

I'll definitely read the next book as long as there's an audiobook.🤞✨️

I enjoyed listening to this story. Unusual concept, enjoyed the comparisons to the two different sets of mates, the world building was good. Narrator was easy to listen too. Patiently waiting for book 2 to find out where their journey goes next.

Enjoyed
