About this listen
Born of An Iron Storm continues the epic tale that started in A Tide of Black Steel; a compelling fantasy saga of bloody retribution, deadly intrigue, and desperate courage
The Sister Queens have fallen and Ascarlia lies naked before the storm. A Nihlvarian plan, years in the making, has seen Ascarlia's enemy seize the capital Skar Magnol. Now the invaders look to the wealthy port city of Olversahl to complete their conquest.
But there is hope.
Elvine is trapped at the heart of the conspiracy, yet her role in the new government offers the chance to plan resistance from within. She must tread a fine line between loyalty and secret disobedience, knowing the smallest mistake will mean her death.
Far away across the ocean, Felnir embarks on a bloody path towards kingship, whilst to the north, Ruhlin seeks escape from the tyrannical realm of Nihlvar where the mysterious Vortigurn holds sway.
Meanwhile, Thera has secured the Outer Islands, but her loyalist forces alone cannot liberate Skar Magnol. She must seek allies to have any chance of defeating the Nihlvarian threat. But her greater challenge will be to overcome her own doubts and become the leader she needs to be.
If she fails, Ascarlia will fall.

Did like rulin and fafnirs story eventhough fafnirs best can be descriped as a side quest and it did become very grating always hearing how fera or alvine would have been better. Even when he wins or achieve something there is always a but. i do like this kind of story but when its compared to fara and elvine who just keep recieving gifts with no downside, it does become tiresome. It feels like the author has a need to justify all successes as in numerus flash backs to when he served under a great general, so thats why he can out smart a group of hoodlums though with looses.
faras story i down right dispised. slight spoiler she starts wounded, against a superior foe, no backup, and lost key crewmen while having no prior experience in open war. quite though situation right? not for fara, the nilvarens can not even be called lane creeps in a moba since it would imply they would give experience. her carisma is so overwhelming she can just go out "i had a dream our Queen has betrayed us" and everyone goes makes sense so now you should be queen. all in alll i stopped caring about her story because when everything is just given and the oitcome is known before it even starts then there is no point in listening. This also begs the question if the nilvarens are such a joke what will the author do in book 3? just summon beings from a nother realm?
alvins story were good in the start but it kept regressing until she were just the typical modern day female warrior. it were still done better than fara since direcly recieves powerups at no cost and is still not invinciple. but it is just tiring that the only way a woman can be depicted is like a girlboss warrior. like there is no value to a woman who is "just" a scholar or master of a craft or god forbid just a kind soul.
overall suspect book 3 will be against summoned beings and ending with fera, alvine and signa becomming the new sister queens.
Feared it would regress to this.
