Summary

The islands of Britain and Ireland hold a rich heritage of plant folklore and wisdom, from the magical yew tree to the bad-tempered dandelion. Here are traditional tales about the trees and plants that shape our landscapes and our lives through the seasons. They explore the complex relationship between people and plants, in lowlands and uplands, fields, bogs, moors, woodlands and towns.

The book itself is absolutely adorable; a particularly nice listen for the start of Autumn and I do recommend buying it because it is well worth it. Unfortunately, I found the performance terribly contrived to the point where I decided to give up listening, and just get the physical book instead

This book is adorable

The short stories are a delight to listen to, the writers celebrations of the nature and the curiosities that it holds.
A few of the tales have beautiful young women who get there rewarded for being kind and mild. Can feel a little bias towards the characteristics of women that we are exploring to leave behind.
A complete pleasure to listen to and especially for free.
