‘True belonging doesn't require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are.’

Social scientist Brené Brown, PhD, has sparked a global conversation about the experiences that bring meaning to our lives – experiences of courage, vulnerability, love, belonging, shame and empathy.

Now, in Braving the Wilderness, Brown redefines what it means to truly belong in an age of increased polarisation.

Brown argues that what we're experiencing today is a spiritual crisis of disconnection and introduces four practices of true belonging that challenge everything we believe about ourselves and each other.

With her trademark mix of research, storytelling and honesty, Brown again changes the cultural conversation, offering us the clarity and courage to discover a clear path to true belonging in our communities, organisations and culture.

Brene is the most powerful writer I have ever come across. Her words, her research & the way she speaks so truthfully have truly reached corners of my life where I previously felt stuck or alone. Her work is a practice in our home.

I loved this book. Brene touched on an upsoken part of me, a wound I had no words for, a pain that can't be spoken with such grace, authenticity and truth that I spend most of this book crying or with a frog in my throat. Thank you.

Tear jerker, deep, amazing, powerful.

For the last 50 years I’ve wondered why people don’t like me, why I don’t get invited to outings or anything else for that matter, why I’ve never belonged. I’m described as strong and independent (read: scared and lonely) being and showing my vulnerability is going to be hard but that has never stopped me before!
Thank you for shining a light and showing me the way
