Summary

Story: Such an emotional one! There's pain and hurt oozing off the words in this one, so definitely not for the faint of heart.
I loved the creations of both MCs, all their banged up pieces and inner strength, The author did a great job crafting the story.
Narration: I'm usually not a huge fun of multiple narrators, but Darcy Stark and Iggy Toma managed to create a cohesive, very well acted out audiobook here, so kudos for that!

Andi Jaxon is a new (to me) author I'm so glad they came up on my recommendation list. I've read thousands of books over the years (yes I am that old!) and have felt the full gamut of emotions throughout them all, but this novel is the only one I've ever wept all the way throughout, heartrending in lots of places but such a very sweet, satisfying HEA, so not all the tears were sad ones! The characters were so well written I loved them from the start, the pain they suffer through is heartbreaking, but the author shows how each of them deal with it, work through it and also that hope and love can win through in the end.

Iggy Toma is one of my top favourite performers, and now I've heard Darcy Stark for the first time he is also a new favourite! An astoundingly good performance from both, the depth of emotions they convey are nothing short of perfection. I will be getting the author's other works, and will also be looking for anything else Darcy Stark narrates! (I already stalk Iggy here!💜)

Cheesy dialogue. Mills & Boon-esque descriptive phrases. A little bit "preachy" internal dialogue. But, the intimate scenes are hot and the characters are angsty and nuanced enough for the audience to be invested. Enjoyable enough. The narration was decent.

This was an absolutely beautifully written love story with fabulous characters and all the feels. I loved it and the HEA was perfect.
