About this listen

She's been his from the moment they met... she just didn't know it yet.

Jax is tasked with hunting down the pages connected to a dangerous artefact. The last of his brothers to break his curse, he never believed he’d ever find his mate. Until he met her, his opposite in every way. Thea is impulsive, loud, and brings color to his world of grey. But with danger lurking and the fate of everything tied to the artefact, Jax must keep his distance and protect her from the shadows.

Until one of the pages is stolen…and he knows exactly who took it.

Thea was content being a petty thief, but with her father’s hospital bills piling up, she needed to earn more. And fast. So when a friend offers her a high-stakes job, she would be a fool not to take it, wouldn’t she? It’s just a page, a simple document, but this quick job spirals into a dangerous mistake. Because others are after the same page, and they’re willing to harm her to get it—everyone except for him.

Thrust into a war she never knew existed, Thea is forced to work with the quiet, cold Guardian to hunt down the remaining pages.

Will they be able to find them in time, or will she lose everything?

Brilliant narration from Alexa Borys and DB West

Jax is looking for his mate and break the curse. What he didn’t expect a thief called Thea. Who now finds herself in war that she knew nothing about and never knew existed. The two are both different as chalk and cheese, she is sunshine and hope and he is grumpy and dark. Together they are steamy and have off the charts chemistry. It takes them a time to get together but this story is full of humour, drama and the spice.

I absolutely loved this book and this series. The Guardians are celestial hybrids tasked with hunting down demons who have escaped into our world. Looming over everything is a classic Big Bad villain determined to release Hell itself, and to do it, he needs three pages of sacred Celestial text. Enter Jax, the last Guardian who hasn’t yet found his mate. (And yes-if a Guardian doesn’t find their mate by a certain deadline, they die… and guess whose deadline is rapidly approaching?) Jax is sent to retrieve one of the stolen pages, only to be completely outplayed by Thea, a fae thief who steals it first. Naturally, Thea turns out to be his mate. Thea is sharp, street-smart, and wildly capable as well as a master escape artist, lock-cracker, and thief. The banter between her and Jax is fantastic, especially as she repeatedly outmaneuvers him. She’s joined by her pixie sidekick Rune, a gloriously potty-mouthed, glitter-wielding menace she rescues from captivity. Rune is not going quietly either. Turns out glitter can be just as deadly as any weapon 😈✨. Then, there’s Lucy (short for Lucifer), Jax’s best friend- a demon, but a good one fighting on the Guardians’ side. Lucy is hilariously devilish, narcissistically fun, and a total bad-@ss. Every scene he’s in is pure entertainment. This book can be read as a standalone, but honestly? This world is so much better experienced from book one. The world-building, relationships, and overarching story really shine when read in order. The narration deserves special praise. The narrators are perfect for their characters, especially D.B. West, who delivers distinct voices for all the male characters and absolutely nails the performances. Since this was the final Guardian still searching for his mate, I’m really hoping the series continues- maybe with Lucy’s story, or even Rune’s. I would 100% read a book about a non-boundaried, glitter-flinging pixie with attitude. 🔥 Highly recommended for fans of paranormal romance, found family, banter, and chaotic magical side characters.

Love this Series and Jax is one of my favs
