Summary
Twenty-five-year-old Luca Elliot lives in a city divided.
The humans and the supernaturals mostly keep to their own kind, but Luca—curious and desperate for work—crosses the border and finds himself employed by a tall, stupidly handsome Fae with killer horns. He should be intimidated, but instead, Luca is utterly captivated. Falling for the boss is a bad idea though, right?
Cair Haryk is only a visitor to the human world, and between his position in the Fae kingdom and a bargain he made years ago, he can never remain. He's content with that until he meets Luca—his soulmate—and hires him to work in his high-end lounge. Cair tries to guard his heart, but fate has other plans, and despite his best intentions, he falls for the pretty little human. Hard.
Luca can't enter the Fae realm, and Cair's time in the mortal lands is drawing to an end, so while the attraction between them is irresistible, their situation is impossible. They can't be together. It's tragedy and heartbreak just waiting to happen.
Isn't it?
Cair is an MM paranormal romance with spice, size difference, and soulmates. Cair is first in the Veiled City series, which is best listened to in order due to the overarching plot. Each book focuses on its own pair and their HEA.

The plot was quite simple but I had a very good time!
Lovely

Prologue - sets the scene for an exciting adventure
the next 8hrs - nothing happens!. Luca is annoying AF! he describes Cair sitting in a chair the same way in 4 different chapters. A lot of filler chapters.
the spice was almost missing. in 10hrs, 2 scenes, one at nearly 8hrs in and one at the end. it wasn't spicing either. i actually DNF towards the end because 9hrs of my life had always been stolen. They were going off to bond/mate, and I could not take the boredom anymore.
next hr - oh something is happening....oh nevermind, they fixed it within 15mins, with 45mins of filler talk.
Last hour - quickly rush in an ending and epilogue. I didnt hear it I was already clocked out.
This could of been a great story, but all the exciting parts were missing. we were left with a whingy female sounding guy, pining over Cair for 10hrs!!!! the hungry caterpillar is more exciting than this book.
I only listened to this book because the wonderful Nick was narrating, but he did me dirty with this one. But this is the first book I disliked that he's narrated.
I do not recommend. save 10hrs of your life. if you ignore and go ahead and listen......welcome to the club! we wont point and laugh too much, but we did warn you lol.
well that was 10hrs of nothing!
