About this listen

Two very determined women - in love, at odds, and risking a lot on a second chance.

After years away from home, Summer Graves is back in Austin, Texas, to accept a new teaching position. Of all the changes to the old neighborhood, the most dispiriting one is the slated demolition of the high school her grandmother founded. There’s no way she can let developers destroy her memories and her family legacy. But the challenge stirs memories of another kind.

On the architectural team revitalizing the neighborhood, hometown girl Aiko Holt is all about progress. Then she sees Summer again. Some things never change.

Neither can forget the kiss they shared at their senior-year dance. Neither can back down from her unwavering beliefs about what’s right for the neighborhood.

For now, the only thing Summer and Aiko are willing to give in to is a heat that still burns. But can two women with so much passion - for what once was and what could be - agree to disagree long enough to fall in love?

Our heroines went to highschool together and met !any years later when they are in opposition regarding a project. They can't resist the feelings they have for each other and we follow how they struggled to keep personal life and their view points about the project in check and not let it interfere with their relationship.
The book has many steamy scenes, and they were good. However, it had to much describing of their jobs and every day life which was a little boring.
Over all good romance with spice and free audio with ku.

Good ff romance

I liked the overall theme of the book but Summer was so annoying to me. She was doing too much, I get that she had memories with the school & neighbourhood but you were gone for years & didn’t have anything to do with your gmas school. Now you’re an activist. I liked Aiko a bit more than Summer lol. I also didn’t like the narrators voice sometimes she over enunciated some words. Overall the book was okay I seem to like the “Can’t let her go” book from the same author more I stopped listening to that to quickly listen to this to understand the story more.

I liked their chemistry
