The audiobook is a lovely mixture of personal experience of the author with really well researched information, practical advice that is so helpful when facing the situation of having to care for an elder family member. More than practical advice on how to be the best caregiver you can, I love that the author also included self care practices, emphasizing how important is to care for self before being able to help another.

This book provides a holistic view of dementia - what is happening inside a person's brain and body as well as what that can look like in terms of behavior, bodily functions and emotions. I found the explanation of the stages of dementia to be very helpful and appreciated the discussion about the options for treatment and care. If you, or someone you know, is struggling with coming to terms with the dementia diagnosis of a loved one then this book is for you. Highly recommend!
