Summary

Most people talk. Few truly connect.

Think about the last conversation that didn't go the way you wanted. The promotion you didn't get. The argument that escalated when it didn't have to. The person you wanted to impress but couldn't find the right words. It wasn't about intelligence or effort. It was about communication — and nobody ever taught you how.

This audiobook changes that. Over 28,000 listeners have already used these tools to transform the way they connect with people at work, at home, and everywhere in between.

You'll learn how to talk to anyone naturally and confidently without overthinking every word. How to read people accurately — what body language, tone, and word choice reveal about what someone is really thinking. How to handle difficult conversations and difficult people without losing your composure or your credibility. How to make small talk that actually leads somewhere. How to give feedback that people act on. How to speak in public without fear. How to build instant rapport with anyone — new contacts, authority figures, introverts, skeptics. The words and phrases quietly killing your credibility, and exactly what to say instead.

Every technique comes from social psychology, emotional intelligence research, and over a decade of real-world application across business, relationships, and high-stakes conversations. No fluff. No filler. Just tools you can start using today — in your next conversation.

Hope to have more of this collection here. Great stuff! Thanks a lot! And the narrator is also great!

One of the top 5 books that I read.

I liked Ian Tuhovsky's Practical Guide since it outlines very well the required thought process and skills to work on in order to improve overall communication. I have started spotting the details mentioned in the book in the people around me and I could say and will be interested to listen to other of his books.

Good summary of communication skills

I liked some of the content in the book but it's nothing spectacular after reading it twice and listening once.
I bought both the Kindle ebook and the audiobook for Whispersync. However, the narrator has the same lazy tone throughout as if he just got out of bed with a cold and is reading it for the first time. He seems to make up the words as he goes along in places and keeps adding in silly filler words and says things backwards that is quite annoying.
The book does have a couple of good sections such as Chapter 18 Eye Accessing Cues. Would never listen to this narrator again though - sounded so terrible.

Narrator is terrible, book is above average

I listened to this book few months ago, and I have just finished to listened it again. I find this book very interesting, some useful and practical tips, like how to remember names of people you just met, or the approach for networking.
I also find very pragmatic the summary of the principles to deliver a great presentation, I think I will listen to that particular chapter before preparing for an important presentation.
The book doesn't talk about new principles or anything that anyone has not heard before, however, the way how are presented makes the principles and the approach easy to remember, and can be put in practice in everyday life.

Great book!
