A literal collision. A casual agreement. And the sports model I never saw coming.

HARPER

I wasn’t a keeper. After too many guys treated me like a pit stop, my heart officially went on strike. Getting traded to the Buffalo Warriors was my chance to reset, play hockey, and keep things simple.

I was doing great until I ran into a stunning, sharp-tongued lacrosse player outside a bathroom in a bar and forgot how to breathe.

Guarded, gorgeous, and entirely unavailable, Luca is everything I shouldn't want. So I offer him the only thing my heart can survive, strictly casual. Two jocks letting off steam.

The one problem? I’d know that jawline anywhere. I just hit on the face of a sportswear empire, the man I've spent two years pretending not to drool over. Now "casual" is getting harder to fake by the minute.

LUCA

I don’t do relationships. I built my walls years ago, and the rules are simple: hook up, walk away, and focus on my lacrosse career.

Then Harper knocked the wind out of me. Literally.

This goofy hockey player is sweet, funny, frustratingly hot, and somehow talks me into the one arrangement I can agree to. No strings, just benefits.

But as our hookups start to feel more like dates, my walls aren’t holding up. Harper is slipping past every one of them, and I have no idea how to stop.

We thought we could keep our hearts out of the game. But when real life threatens to pull us apart, we have to decide if we’re brave enough to play for keeps.

CROSSED STICKS is a high-heat MM sports romance with a hockey player and a lacrosse player who can't stop chirping, an accidental hookup with a famous face, a friends-with-benefits deal gone sideways, and a found family of nosy teammates. It's the first book in the Buffalo Warriors Hockey series. The banter runs alongside anxiety and depression handled with genuine care, all the way to a breathless HEA.

These sportsmen have fractured hearts with gold to give to their one. I appreciate how vuneraeble they are with their wants and needs. But for me personally some of it came out of left field for me. Overall as always, this writing duo created a story that was well built and does not hang about if the mcs get each other. They weather their storms and come out stronger together at the other end.

The narrator was right for the story and I 'zoomed' through the audiobook.

I think this is the hottest book I’ve read by this writing duo. These guys were burning up the sheets. (TBH, the sex was a little too much at times.) Everything was going fine until a huge misunderstanding happened and they hit a rough patch. The story is pretty angsty but worth every bit of it. Alexander Cendese did a great job performing this audiobook. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were delightfully witty and I loved the writing. It was a captivating love story with all the feels, I loved the narration and the HEA was perfect.

Excellent story 👏👏👏

I'm not sure if it was the narrator or how the book was written, but i found it very repetitive and I fell asleep a lot during. As an AuDHD person it takes a lot to send me to sleep.

I realised by chapter 39 I didn't actually care how the book ended and was already bored. I should have given up by chapter 11, when Luca keeps asking if Harper is ready, like around 15 times he asks the same question. I even screamed out, put him out of his misery FFS.

DNF - Very repetitive and drones on
