About this listen

The thief. The murmur. The shadow. The combatant. The traveler.

Sunny and Josephine Corvinus have lived on Earth their entire lives. Broke. Orphans. Average. That was their life. Sunny, a dance teacher. Josephine, a librarian.

Little did they know the blood running through their veins was a tracking device for a king in another realm. A realm called Writhia. A realm filled with illusions, monsters, and royalty. People who spoke an entirely different language. People who were tracking them. People who loved them.

And when the two sisters are thrown into this realm, they have to fight like they've never fought before. Just when they think they've found a safe haven, Josephine gets kidnapped by a dark king. Sunny will stop at nothing to get her sister back. Even if it means trusting the general of said dark king.

This is my sort of thing. There is nothing new in the plot and it had a lot of slow moments, but I did like the world building.

Fantasy mixed with scifi

Although this story is read by several different characters, Weston and Sunny are the main characters. I love the fantasy and adventure of it all. Josephine the little sister was powerful and more powerful than her evil father. The love between Weston and Sunny was beautiful but challenging. Want wait for part two of this series. I highly recommend this book.

Crown of Sunlight is a very well-composed fantasy with dark elements in a compelling world. The storyline is fast-paced; much happens with lots of twists and turns. There are various different characters but well-developed and engaging. Payton Taylor is a gifted author, very imaginative, and able to captivate the readers/listeners.

The narration by Jillian Yetter is excellent. I found her voice to be a bit too youthful. That being said, she does a great job capturing the characters' personalities and emotions. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Payton Taylor has created an intriguing world into which our two heroines Sunny and Jo are spirited. A pleasing mix of fantasy and sci-fi elements, the world feels unique.

I enjoyed all of the characters and appreciated their motivations. The plot moves along at a great pace with some twists you won't see coming. I never found myself bored or wanting to skip forward.

I received a review copy of the audio book of this novel and I highly recommend it. Narrator Jillian Yetter does a fantastic job.

Overall, a worthwhile read.

Interesting portal fantasy

This is a very well written story , it has a lot of depth to it, the narrator was good but didn't have much versatility to her voice, also the editing wasnt great because there was quite a few mistakes in it, but like I said the story is great so that makes up for it. I would recommend this book and I will be going on to the next book. audiobook obsessions reviewer.
