About this listen

Logan Crowne needs one year from Ella.

Twelve months living in his house, holding his hand, wearing his ring on her finger, and in exchange, she’ll get her father’s company in the divorce settlement.

They have one year to convince his skeptical parents that they’re happily in love, and he’s settled enough to run Crowne Industries.

Ella wants the company badly enough to live with a man who will never love her. She’ll sleep in his room and kiss him for show.

Her heart may melt whenever he’s around, and his touch may ignite a fire inside her, but surrender will break her heart.

She’s sure she can last a year without giving him her body.

She’s wrong.

I thought it would be pure erotica, but it was so much more than that. There’s a real reflection about marriage and couples–how it works, what makes it work or not, the place of feelings and commitment. Through the main couple–who’s a fake one at first, marrying with a contract and barely knowing each other–but also through Logan’s parents, through Ella’s parents–and Ella’s father and her stepmother–and a tiny bit through Byron and his wife–Logan’s brother is the main character in the previous book of the series. They’re all different and offer various aspects of a marriage. All those examples show Ella and Logan that their relationship isn’t as doomed as they think it is.

This book is also about Ella and Logan growing as persons, learning who they are and what they want, again with the help of the people surrounding them–and each other too. Because they’re so different from each other, they have to meet in the middle, taming their extreme nature to find a more balanced one. It was fascinating to witness their journey through their thoughts and feelings.

The writing style helped. I loved how the author used words and sentences to convey their emotions. On top of that, the perfect narration gave soul to those very interesting characters.

I can’t recommend this book enough–it’s powerful and emotional and scorching hot, and so worth a read or listen.

Logan and Ella are great characters who come together for mutual benefit, and have no intentions of falling for each other. But will that be true when their contract ends?
I love a marriage of convenience read, and Crowne Of Lies didn’t disappoint. Fab narrators too!

A great read!

I loved the first book in the Crowne Industries series and devoured this one too! Logan & Ella were great characters. Looking forward to more stories from the brothers.

Joe and Maxine were amazing as usual, they fit together so well in books.

This is a new author to me. WOW, I was hooked from the start on this story of Logan and Ella. both needed something so they turned to each other to get it. As they progress in their marriage, dynamics change. They seem to find what males themselves happy.

Joe Arden..WOW.. what can I say.. love his voice . amazing chararazations. I can never tire of hearing him . And the expletives so hot coming from him.
Maxine Mitchell another favorite narrator. she is so spot on..

I’ve got to say I loved this audio, everything about it kept me engaged and I did not want to take those EarPods out of my ears. I loved Logan (sexy businessman), and Ella (free spirit). I loved their honesty going into the marriage contract and I loved their honesty in the bedroom, shame about their denial of a future, but isn’t that what always makes these books more exciting. Fake marriage, always an interesting genre, always enjoyable. They think they have nothing in common, at least they didn’t take sex off the table (they normally do), and that one thing, they both said would never happen, well it always does. Can’t fault the story, the writing or the narration. I loved it all. Joe Arden (always a favourite of mine), was complemented by Maxine Mitchell in this wonderful audio.

A wonderful fake marriage romance
