The glittering follow-up to the award-winning literary bestseller My Sister, the Serial Killer.

No man will call your house his home. And if they try, they will not have peace...

So goes the family curse, long handed down from generation to generation, ruining families and breaking hearts. And now it's Eniiyi's turn - who, due to her uncanny resemblance to her dead aunt, Monife, is already used to her family's strange beliefs, as well as their insistence that she is a reincarnation. Still, when she falls in love with the handsome boy she saves from drowning, she can no longer run from her family's history. Is she destined to live out the habitual story of love and heartbreak, or can she escape the family curse and the mysterious fate that befell her aunt?

Editorial Review

Family, fate, and the weight of the past
After enjoying Oyinkan Braithwaite's first novel, My Sister, the Serial Killer, I've been eagerly awaiting her follow-up, Cursed Daughters. Set in Lagos, the story follows three generations of Falodun women who live under a chilling curse to never keep love. At the centre is Eniiyi, born on the day her cousin Monife died—her likeness so uncanny that people believe she's Monife returned. As Eniiyi falls in love, she starts to notice unsettling patterns repeating through her family. Is it truly a curse or just the weight of family history? What I love most is how Cursed Daughters feels both magical and real. Braithwaite writes about family dynamics, womanhood, and generational pain with such honesty that it's impossible not to see yourself somewhere in these pages. —Dawn G., Audible Editor

The narration was good. The story was also so captivating. I’m so glad the narrators also just sounded exactly like I imagined they would. Gave the right vibe of the book.

I really enjoyed this!

It's such a shame how all the females in a family allowed an old superstitious to manifest and took over there lives and love lives . However I found the cast unforgettable Ebun and mobile especiallythey both left a beautiful impression with me. This book examines generational trauma and it was so touching how the women struggled with the pressure of a belief system . I find the book going back and forth quiet claustrophobic, being a Nigerian woman myself found myself caught up not knowing weither the supervision were real or not.

Family riddled with superstition
