I loved this book, it's a particularly strong addition to this excellent series. I can't stand the seemingly random fanfares that have been added to the story however. They break up dialogue and moments of tension for too often and serve no purpose.

I really like the characters for this series and they go through a LOT of development in this one, but I had to dock a star because of the bloody horn sound affects that break the immersion. I don't know when they choose to put them in, but occasionally I've noticed them within a single conversation. maybe the was a perspective change or something, I don't remember, but they snap me right out of it.

in this day and age, you should be able to tag sounds like that and optionally disable them from the app.

I have no idea why it is randomly punctuated with brass horns playing? It could be a glitch on my download I suppose but it just comes out of nowhere and doesn’t seem to be connected to events in the narrative.. like I said, possibly a glitch.


The story is great, the performance is very good as well, only Chilopoda one star off due to the horn thing..
