About this listen

We're a match made in hell, Stefan and I.

He took me to exact his revenge. I went from being a pawn to my father to being a pawn to Stefan. The only difference is I have a ring the size of a boulder on my finger and a husband I don't want.

And the hardest part is I thought he was different. I thought I was falling in love.

I guess my father was right. I'm not a very smart girl.

Stefan is a powerful man. He doesn't play nice, not if you're his enemy. But I've learned one thing about my husband.

He takes care of what's his.
And I am his.

His enemies have become my enemies, but he'll never let anyone hurt me. He's fiercely protective. It's the predator inside that scares me.

This is book 2 of the duet and has to be read after the first book. This is a good book- interesting, with a good amount of suspense and intrigue as well as a dark romance. After being rescued, Gabriela has to reconcile her distrust with her attraction and affection for Stefan. Gabriela has a difficult time especially because she’s always been so isolated by her father so she is really naïve and easily manipulated (she even admits it!), which actually became a bit aggravating over the course of the book. Stefan is hyper protective, the ultra alpha male and perfect to take care of Gabriela given her naivety. It is a fast read/listen because this is so packed with interesting scenes and intrigue. I didn’t want to shut the audiobook off, in part because of the narration.

This is one of the first books I’ve listened to by Wen Ross and he’s wonderful. His voice is so smooth with great modulation and pacing. It was perfect for Stefan and he did a great job with the other characters as well. Mackenzie is just as good and both added to the story. This is a great listen (both books 1 and 2).

Exciting conclusion to the duet

This was a great conclusion to Collateral. What a rollercoaster ride of passion, hate and love. Stephen had all sides coming for and not knowing who to trust and will Gabby be his strength or his weakness and is Rafa friend or foe. Gabby needs to get over her mistrust of Stephen. I loved this story and Wen and Mackenzie's narration. 5 stars all the way.

Amazing

I’m a big fan of Stefan, he never lies apart from the one about Clara but everything else seems to be truthful. Gabrielle got on my nerves with her lying and whingeing. I don’t know how Stefan had the patience for her. All is fair in love and war, I’m pleased the story ended the way it did.
The narrators did an excellent job in bringing the characters to life.

The sequel to Collateral and the perfect ending as well. You will still have lots of drama and confusion as well as action and suspense with this book just like the first. I loved this duet and loved the narration team as well. Just perfect.
