About this listen

She wrote fiction for a living—until her own life became the plot twist.

When best-selling author Amy Willows vanishes without a trace, her disappearance is written off as a publicity stunt—until her daughter, Rylie, a struggling journalist, uncovers a digital breadcrumb trail leading to an enigmatic social media group her mother recently joined.

As Rylie plunges deeper into the group's shadowy corners, she realizes Amy wasn't just researching her next standalone novel—she was reliving it. With a disgruntled agent fuming over Amy's decision to abandon her wildly successful series, and clues that suggest the standalone may be more confession than fiction, Rylie finds herself unraveling a twisted narrative written in secrets and stained in truth.

I needed this! There is nothing better than a psychological thriller that pulls me in and has me wondering and thinking the entire time. Author Amy Willow goes missing. She is a thriller writer and when she disappears, her daughter, Rylie and husband are on a mission to find her. But what her daughter finds leaves her trusting no one and needing to find her mother more than ever. Distrust of her mother's agent, finding unusual things on her computer and even doubting her father leads her down paths that are nothing but dead ends that are driving her crazy. But when she begins to put things together with her dad, it all comes clear. Or does it? Each scene leads to another question. Each question leads to another suspect, another doubt but no mother. And the end...what a surprise! This is a fantastic book and I enjoyed every minute.

Abigail Reno and Sebastian York lead the charge to find Amy. Reno is Rylie, and she is so good, I fell down the rabbit hole with each scene. As the agent, Amy and Rylie, Reno is able to build the suspense and fill me with doubt in my decisions of who has Amy! York is Amy's husband and editor, adding that darkness to the story is his thing! I love his ability to be the distraught husband and the supportive editor. Together these two make the story flow with all the suspense and it's a fantastic narration.

This is so good!

The deeper I got into this audiobook the deeper it’s claws got into me and I couldn’t stop listening because I NEEDED answers. The last couple of chapters blew my mind because out of all the endings I had, that wasn’t anywhere near any of them

Such a good plot
