The brand-new gripping dark comedy thriller from the world of the Sweetpea series – Now a major TV series on Sky Atlantic, starring Ella Purnell!

Murder can be a family business …

Even wallflowers have to bloom.

Sixteen-year-old Ivy is your average teenager. She’s annoyed by the scratchy labels on her school uniform, old men who wolf-whistle, and her mother the serial killer.

But is murder in her roots?

Ivy was raised far away from the shadows of Rhiannon Lewis, the Sweetpea killer, but when the local predator – better known as Ivy’s football coach – is found dead, could it be that she has discovered a taste for blood?

As suspicion grows deeper, Ivy’s only way out is to get some motherly advice. But when the internet’s unlikeliest vigilantes determine that Ivy must be punished for her mother’s crimes, she must decide whether to control the rage burning inside her.

Or to unleash her thorns…

Praise for Darling Bud 'Ivy is a new star in the Sweetpea universe. A riotous read following a wise-cracking teenager doing normal teenage stuff like trying to belong, and non-normal teenage stuff like coping with being the daughter of a famous serial killer. Bluntness, brilliance and bloodshed. Darling Bud has it all’ Asia Mackay
'This is everything I loved about Sweetpea: all the vicious bite, razor wit, and glorious – and rather comedic- darkness. C.J. Skuse is a master of the darkly comic thriller’ H.J. Garbett

Amazing as always. I hope there will be a follow up.
Narration was OK, but I do miss Georgia Macguire

I love the C J Skuse series of Sweetpea and this new actor Emily Jackman voicing Ivy was perfection. The actor has her down to a tea and was so captivating. Nailed the humour we love! Thank you. I definitely want more ivy now!

Incredible Ivy’s voice!

I couldn’t wait for this to come out, and happily it was well timed for a short holiday in the sun. I am now hungry for a follow up to this.

I liked the narrator, although I didn’t think her Aussie accent was much cop. You could hear Rhiannon in Ivy’s voice though so that made up for it.

I was confused slightly at Rhiannon’s initial coldness towards Ivy, but don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t listened yet. The ending was perfect but left me wanting more. It was a brilliant follow up to the Sweet Pea saga and I really hope more books are on the way.

Loved it, this HAS to have a follow up

A little meh, Australian accent was a little annoying maybe for the high pitch. But story was ok.

My husband and i are huge fans of the sweetpea series, but the last Sweet Pea book(which seemed rushed) and the tv series were really awful(wrong actress and they cut the story about too much). We decided to give it one more chance when this came out.Seeing the story from Ivys point of view was very interesting, as she found out the full story of her mum and finding her way.
The narrator nailed it mostly but her accents were very bad !!.Loved the twist at the end ,didnt see that coming !!

Overall very good
